April 19, 2005 - dotCanada.com Incorporated (dotCanada.com), one of Canada’s fasting growing small and medium-sized business web hosting providers, announced today that it has purchased the customers and assets of hosting firm AffordableHOST Inc. (affordablehost.com). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition is dotCanada.com’s second in four months. In January, the company purchased the reseller Web hosting business of Resellernow.com.
Affordablehost.com currently hosts over 9,000 sites in more than 40 countries, and operates a 1,700 square-foot data center. Sudbury, Ontario-based dotCanada.com now manages over 20,000 Web sites.
“Affordablehost.com is one of the most respected web hosting businesses, with their seven year history of phenomenal uptime and customer support,” said Richard Madison, President of dotCanada.com.
Madison said the purchase is geared toward improving the company’s International operation, as dotCanada.com currently serves the Canadian market exclusively.
