October 13, 2006 – (TopHosts News Brief) – ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT) announced that EarthLink (NASDAQ:ELNK) chose ADC’s SG-1 Service Gateway for its many nationwide municipal Wi-Fi networks.
EarthLink currently provides wireless Internet services in Anaheim, Calif. and is setting up networks in Milpitas, Calif., and Philadelphia.
ADC’s SG-1 provides an extra layer of value-added services, such as dynamic bandwidth management and content on demand, without the need to add dedicated client software. With ADC’s SG-1, hosting companies can profitably offer differentiated services and content to users based on individual user profiles.
“Earthlink is one of the leaders in municipal wireless broadband, and ADC’s SG-1 Service Gateway will help us continue building world class networks,” Donald Berryman, executive vice president of Earthlink and president of the ISP’s municipal networks unit, said in a Business Wire release.
