Feb. 27, 2007 (TopHosts News Brief) BlueFur.com (http://www.bluefur.com), a Web hosting service provider based in British Columbia, wants to be more environmentally friendly. The web host introduced a Carbon Neutral program and will plant one tree for each server it operates.
The company studied the amount of trees required to balance its greenhouse-gas emissions and decided it cannot prevent energy usage for its servers. By planting trees, BluFur.com, hopes to offset the overall environmental impact.
Lisa Jones, BlueFur.com President announced in a company news release: “Global warming is creating a dire situation for the planet. Weve all heard the evidence, most of us have read the reports, and frankly, its time we step up and do our part. Most importantly, we hope our leadership in doing this will convince other web service providers to follow suit.”
The official Carbon Neutral posting is available at the BlueFur.com blog: http://blog.bluefur.com/2007/02/13/bluefur-goes-green/.
