April 20, 2007 – (TopHosts News Brief) – Overture Networks announced that Hosted Solutions selected their ISG 5000 product for Ethernet service deployments and flexible bandwidth between locations in Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Due to increased customer demand for replication and disaster recovery solutions, Hosted Solutions has made significant upgrades in network capacity between data centers,” Rich Lee, CEO, Hosted Solutions, said in a Business Wire release. “By partnering with Overture Networks and deploying its ISG 5000 appliances, we now have the flexibility to provide clients with a secure, reliable, Ethernet-type topology to transport mission critical data over our high capacity SONET connections.”
The ISG 5000 is a converged packet access platform that bridges TDM and packet worlds to deliver flexible, high-speed Ethernet and TDM services over metro backbones. It is optimized for medium to large enterprises, multi-tenant buildings or multiservice aggregation sites such as the central office or wiring center. It can also function as a cost effective aggregation point for any of other members of the ISG family.
Hosted Solutions stated it chose the ISG 5000 for the extra flexibility, giving customers bandwidth between its data centers. Connectivity using Ethernet is a natural extension of the data center internal fabric (10/100/1000Mb Ethernet) and allows for simplified LAN, flexibility of IP, and reliability of SONET connections. To meet Hosted Solutions’ needs, the ISG 5000 was equipped with OC-12c modules for the WAN and GigE Modules feeding routers.
