May 28, 2007 — (TopHosts News Brief) — Intermedia announced it passed the SAS 70 auditing process and is now SAS 70 certified across the entire organization — a significant accomplishment for hosting providers.
With the announcement, Intermedia is now the only major hosted Exchange provider to be both SAS 70 and PCI compliant. These are standards required by Visa, MasterCard and other major credit card networks for any company handling credit card transactions.
“Intermedia is proud to be one of the few in our industry to provide this level of assurance to our customers,” Serguei Sofinski, Intermedia CEO, said in a PRWeb release. “Any company looking to outsource Exchange — a mission critical business application — should value SAS 70 compliance as an important indicator of high-quality and secure business processes.
The SAS 70 audit is a widely recognized mark of service quality, and shows that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, including information technology processes. DuPont & Morgan, LLP — leading independent certified public accounting firm — completed the audit.
Intermedia notes that unlike many Exchange hosting providers misleadingly advertise ‘SAS 70 certification’ based only on the fact that their outsourced data center provider was certified. Intermedia is certified at the entire organizational level, which demonstrates not just quality data center processes but also careful customer data storage and general business management.
