July 18, 2007 - Rackspace Managed Hosting today announced the addition of two new executives to the company’s team. Frederick Mendler was named vice president of Fanatical Support™ for the company’s Managed Hosting division. Mendler has been with Rackspace for more than four years and most recently held the title director of Fanatical Support.
The company also brought in Klee Kleber to serve as vice president of worldwide marketing. Kleber brings to Rackspace more than 13 years of marketing experience, 10 of those with Dell where he managed various marketing and sales divisions of the company in the U.S. and internationally.“Frederick and Klee both bring a depth of expertise to Rackspace,” said Lanham Napier, president and chief executive officer, Rackspace Managed Hosting. “Frederick has long been an irreplaceable cog in our Managed segment, ensuring Fanatical Support continues to exceed our customer’s expectations by better understanding the relationship between the managed hosting business and the customer service industry.
“By adding Klee to our executive team, we will rely on him to drive our global marketing initiatives, including brand management, marketing communications, demand generation and market research. With a fast-growing company like Rackspace, we need proven leaders like Frederick and Klee to stay ahead of the competition by listening to our customer demands.”
Before joining Rackspace, Mendler held management positions with several customer-service focused national retailers, as well as positions with a variety of public relations and marketing firms, working on high-tech accounts. Mendler graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Mass Communications.
Prior to joining Rackspace, Kleber served as vice president of marketing for Segway, Inc. where he managed global marketing for the Segway Personal Transporter and was responsible for demand generation, promotions, product planning and pricing, public relations, and market research. At Dell, he was an executive in the consumer, SMB and enterprise business segments, working in the U.S., Germany, the U.K. and Japan. Kleber holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University in Economics and German, as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
