July 31, 2007 - (TopHosts News Brief) - SWsoft announced that IGNUM Czech Republic hosting provider chose the SWsoft Virtuozzo virtualization solution to power its virtual private server (VPS) offerings.
“SWsoft’s Virtuozzo solution gave IGNUM an opportunity to bring the benefits of virtualization technology to its customers in the Czech Republic,” Soeren von Varchmin, managing director of European/Asian operations, SWsoft, said in a company press release. “Virtuozzo delivers the best of our OPEN FUSION technology initiative, which in the future will help IGNUM take advantage of emerging business opportunities such as software as a service (SaaS).”
IGNUM began offering Virtuozzo-powered VPS hosting services in mid-April. Two-thirds of those customers are using the Linux platform, while the rest are using Windows.
“VPS hosting is ordered by customers who need more than shared hosting and want the advantages of VPS hosting, such as custom configuration of the server and a guarantee of available resources,” stated Marek Erneker, managing director, IGNUM. “We believe that virtualization is the future of hosting services, so our VPS offerings are essential for us to remain a technology leader in the Czech Republic.”
