Aug. 8, 2007 - Fast-growing hosting company FastNext (www.fastnext.com) announced a new offer — clustered hosting.
A lot of people have heard something about clustered hosting, but many still don’t know exactly what benefits this technology provides. The main advantage of clustered Load Balancing technology is extreme reliability, achieved by real-time sharing jobs between servers within a cluster. So, if some server failure occurs, all requests and all tasks are automatically redirected to another server of the cluster. Such an approach also brings enhanced security. For example, DoS attacks are generally known methods to prevent normal site functionality used by hackers or just spiteful persons. Clustered hosting excludes the possibility of successful attacks.
FastNext offers shared and three reseller hosting plans on the Linux platform. The Shared cluster Plan provides 30 Gb storage, 600 Tb monthly traffic, unlimited number of databases and availability to host up to 30 domains (with unlimited number of parked domains and subdomains).
Reseller plans LinCluster-1, LinCluster-2 and LinCluster-3 provide 20-60 Gb of storage, 400-1200 Gb of traffic, 200-600 hosted domains, 1-2 dedicated IPs.
As for the features, they are the same as provided by ordinary shared plans and reseller plans. As for the price of clustered hosting – it is higher than traditional hosting. The reason is that this technology requires special software and qualified staff for its configuration.
Shared Clustered plans cost $9.95/mo ($6.95/mo for 2-year order); the price for reseller plans starts from $17.95. But this hosting is really worth the cost.
