Sept. 6, 2007 - (TopHosts News Brief) - EarthLab today reports they’ve chosen Terremark Worldwide, Inc. as its strategic Web hosting partner. Through the new arrangement, Terremark will host EarthLab’s website on its Infinistructure on-demand virtualization platform.
Launched in conjunction with Live Earth on 7.7.07, EarthLab is the first green-focused website aimed at building a community of knowledgeable people that can effectively respond to the climate crisis. The site demonstrates how to implement easy lifestyle changes that can make an impact, while helping embed a green approach into everyday living ultimately improving the earth’s climate.
“We selected Terremark as our hosting provider because the company’s virtualized IT solutions provide EarthLab with the highly scalable, managed solution we require for our EarthLab climate crisis community,” EarthLab creator Duane Dahl said in a Business Wire release.
Terremark’s Infinistructure utility computing platform leverages virtualization technology to optimize systems utilization, helping to minimize server count and greatly reduce space, power and cooling requirements. Terremark also participates in the EPA Green Power Partnership program to buy green power as a way to lessen the environmental impacts associated with conventional electricity use.
