October 24, 2007 (TopHosts News Brief) - A survey by Toronto, Ontario-based Web host Netfirms Inc. has revealed that using a green Web host is an integral part of small businesses’ green programs.
The company surveyed 5000 of its customers about what their business was doing to help the environment. The results revealed that SMBs are hosting their websites with Netfirms because of its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. 90 percent of the customers surveyed said that using a green Web host to power their website is part of their green program.
Since launching it in July 2007, Netfirms has received positive feedback for its Green Energy Saving program.
“The overwhelmingly positive response we’ve had to our green program makes it clear that using a green web host is important to small businesses,” Thomas Savundra, Netfirms’ president, said in a statement issued to the media. “As a way of acknowledging environmental leadership in the Netfirms community, we’ve started showcasing environmentally responsible customers on our website. Our goal is to encourage more businesses to take additional steps toward helping the environment.”
