October 26, 2007 (TopHosts News Brief) - A survey conducted by Leger Marketing on behalf of Toronto, Ontario-based Web host Fusepoint Managed Services revealed that 48 percent of Canadian executives are concerned about their company’s confidential data.
This is despite 71 percent reporting that they have measures in place against security breaches. However, 22 percent of Canadian executives admitted to taking greater care of their own personal information than that of their clients or customers and 17 percent reported that their company has been affected by a security breach.
“Security is not just a technology issue; it’s a corporate governance issue,” George Kerns, Fusepoint’s president and CEO, said in press release. “Many executives are speeding down the information superhighway without a seat belt and putting businesses and consumers at risk. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of protection when it comes to sensitive data.”
