November 8, 2007 (TopHosts News Brief) - Pingdom, an uptime monitoring service, has unveiled its latest monitoring package.
The new, more powerful offering is called Pingdom Business. Its old package has been renamed Pingdom Basic. It is aimed squarely at Web hosting and e-commerce companies. Pingdom Basic costs $9.95 (USD) while Pingdom Business costs $39.95 (USD).
The solution allows businesses to monitor uptime for a large number of websites, servers or services. It can also send SMS alerts to multiple contacts. Customers receive 200 SMS when they sign up and a heavy discount on SMS alerts. It also includes 30 checks. Each check can monitor a server, website or service.
The Business package also contains an exclusive series of professional monitoring tools and advanced features that aren’t available in the Basic package.
“We have noticed an increasing demand for a package along these lines,” Sam Nurmi, Pingdom’s CEO, said in a press release. “Many companies, especially within Web hosting industry, have a significant number of servers connected to the internet. We want to make it easy for them to monitor every server and every service in a reliable and affordable manner.”
