November 23, 2007 (TopHosts News Brief) - Louisville, Colorado-based Web hosting services and collocation provider Zayo Bandwidth announced that is has acquired Minneapolis, Minnesota-based telecommunications provider Onvoy.
Zayo has started a new business unit called Onvoy Voice Services. The unit will provide services to local exchange carriers and other communications providers. Former Onvoy CEO Fritz Hendricks has been appointed the unit’s president.
“Through Zayo’s expanded network, Onvoy Voice Services can further aggregate scale and reach bringing choice and stability to rural communication providers,” Hendricks said in a statement issued to the press. “Through peering agreements with other providers, we also will be able to offer cost-effective solutions on a national scale.”
“Zayo appreciates the deep and long standing relationship Onvoy has had with the greater Minnesota LEC community,” Dan Caruso, Zayo’s president and CEO, added in the same statement. “My priority is to support Fritz in his quest to strengthen and expand Onvoy’s relationship with our LEC partners.”
