January 23, 2008 (TopHosts News Brief) - ServerPoint, a Las Vegas, Nevada-based Web hosting services provider, has deployed a new gigabit uplink from XO Communications at its data center.
The new uplink will provide additional network redundancy and capacity at its data center. It will help to lower latency rates by providing a new route for data entering and leaving the company’s network. ServerPoint will also be able to minimize the chance of network downtime. The company also plans to increase its network capacity by eight to 10 gigabits within the next 12 months.
“XO has a very large network that peers with every other major provider, in addition to having the largest IP capacity in Las Vegas,” Erik Johnson, ServerPoint’s CTO, said in a statement issued by the company. “Having worked with XO communications previously, we are confident our customers will benefit from the high quality network access they provide.”
