March 27, 2008 - (TopHosts News Brief) – Web hosting provider, Hivelocity, announced that they are offering dedicated KVM-over-IP units to all of their dedicated server accounts.
KVM-over-IP (keyboard, video, mouse) allows customers to have 24/7 virtual hands-on console access to their server, and is great for individuals looking to maintain control of almost every aspect of their server without having to involve anyone but themselves.
Currently, Hivelocity is promoting this new feature by installing a dedicated KMV with a $0 setup fee until April 15th. A standard $75 setup fee will apply once the promotion ends. Any server can be equipped with a Lantronix SecureLinx Spider KVM for only $29 per month.
“Some people rely on our support team for everything, some people like the idea of relying only on themselves,” said Hivelocity’s General Manager Steve Eschweiler. “Allowing any server to have permanent KVM-over-IP access will satisfy those customers who crave 100% control of their server.”
Each KVM unit is connected directly to the server, allowing non-blocked access from any web browser- anywhere, at any time. KVM-over-IP enables BIOS-level control of servers and allows up to 8 simultaneous users, without the need for any additional software.
