July 9, 2008 - (TopHosts News Brief) LeaseWeb, one of the largest Web hosting providers situated in the Netherlands, reports that it has been granted ISO 27001 certification.
Specifically the certification is for information security, but Dr. Ronald Paans of Noordbeek IT Audit said
that LeaseWeb was approved for management of different processes as well including hosting and operational management and hosting security.
This means that LeaseWeb’s customers should remain assured that their websites are being hosted securely and in a safe, well-managed data center.
Elaborating on the standard, Dr. Paans remarks in a news statement: “ISO 27001 is a rigorous standard that is consistent with what De Nederlandsche Bank expects from banks and insurances companies. This ISO standard is considered the framework of the Code for Information Security, but for hosting provider LeaseWeb we have done far more within this certification process than just examining and assessing the information security. We also examined and approved the management of different processes within the organization in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard.”
Con Zwinkels, Managing Director of LeaseWeb adds as to the importance of certification: “Corporate website hosting requires a structured and secure approach from a hosting provider, through fixed procedures. The same applies to e-commerce sites, and to other companies for which the web environment plays a critical role in the business.”
According to Zwinkels, LeaseWeb increased its bandwidth capacity to a whopping 210 Gbps, and has doubled its head count over the past year.
Since ISO 27001 is a continuous process, LeaseWeb will undergo auditing each year. Please visit www.LeaseWeb.com to learn more about its full menu of Web hosting products and services.
