The company’s Docklands data center is nearly filled to capacity with 89 percent of the available space sold. As a result, Global Crossing has embarked on Phase II of that build-out and already has pre-sold 10 percent of the additional racks available to prospective customers. In addition, a new center in Amsterdam is part of the firm’s plans to continue the modular development of its hosting solutions business in Europe. The Amsterdam facility will be available in early 2009.
“Global Crossing is focused on corporate customers, and we’re investing in the value-added services that are essential to them, such as the hosting solutions we provide through our data centers,” said Anthony Christie, managing director, EMEA. “Our customers include more than 130 UK government departments and agencies, as well as the transportation and commercial segments.
