Craig Martin discusses how DediPower has transitioned into one of the best Web hosting providers in the UK over the past decade.

TH: Congratulations on 10 years of success in the Web hosting sector. Tell us briefly about the successes that defined DediPower over the past decade?

CM: Thank you. The past 10 years has been an amazing ride and we have changed along the way to adjust to market demands. We actually started out as a web development company and quickly identified the growing need for web hosting solutions for our clients. This quickly changed the direction and focus of the company and now we are focused on dedicated hosted solutions and have built 2 data centres in the Reading area.

Major milestones that have defined DediPower are: turning from 3 founders into an organization with over 30 employees in a 6 year period, building and running our own data centres, and winning and retaining some long term, fantastic customers like ITV and SAM Learning. Throughout this time we have been focused on growing the business organically and pride ourselves in delivering service excellence.

TH: Upon reflection were there any major obstacles your company had to overcome?

CM: The past decade, has seen many challenges along the way, but what has helped is our agility to change in the marketplace. As a rapidly expanding business we did notice previous internal business structures were no longer supporting the business objectives, so we changed. We brought sales and support together into business units focused on the customer and now deliver a customer centric business model. Another challenge we have faced over the years has been in recruiting high caliber technical people, due to hosting being such a specialist sector.

TH: Tell us briefly about the successes that defined DediPower over the past decade?

CM: Throughout the years many people have contributed to the success of DediPower, we would not be the company we are today without their contributions. I believe what has set us apart is our people. Afterall, we are a service business and people do business with people. The other major contributor to our success has been our agility in the market and being able to respond to market requirements.

TH: What is it about DediPower that makes it a compelling company to do business with?

TH: What major goals have been set for the company in the next year? Are there any significant plans longer term, international expansion for example?

TH: Are there any hosting companies in the UK that you closely monitor or compete aggressively with?

CM: We believe there is a top tier of 3 to 4 managed hosting companies in the UK market who we successfully compete aggressively with. It is also great to meet up with them at industry events and follow what they are up to in the market so we are able to learn from their successes and stay on our toes to deliver the best service offering for our customers.
