Namecheap Buys Budget Web Hosting Provider, PeopleHost

Oct. 1, 2008- (TopHosts News Brief)-Web host and domain registration service provider, Namecheap has acquired PeopleHost. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
PeopleHost based in Melrose Park, IL has been providing low cost Web hosting services since 1999.
Namecheap’s CEO, Richard Kirkendall said: “We have acquired PeopleHost as part of our long-term hosting growth strategy. We identified them as a company that we can transform with our world class customer service and technical support. This experience will be entirely positive for all PeopleHost customers.”
Namecheap, which entered the Web hosting market in 2007, has acquired a customer base of 11,000.
It’s domain registration business, founded in 2000, is among the top ten worldwide.
