Toronto company selects Buffalo for second key data center in its US expansion

2009-10-14- BUFFALO, NY – CentriLogic, Inc., a Toronto-based provider of outsourced datacenter services, today announced its New York expansion into Buffalo with the opening of a new office in the city’s downtown core.

CentriLogic, which opened its U.S. corporate head office and 23,000-square-foot data center in Rochester, NY in 2007, announced then that it plans to establish additional datacenters across the region, known as the “Golden Horseshoe.” The company has now entered its second phase in Buffalo.

CentriLogic provides a full suite of hosting and managed services and solutions, with data centers in upstate New York and Southern Ontario. Buffalo was a strategic location for CentriLogic’s second U.S. city as it creates a critical link between the company’s datacenters in Rochester and Toronto.

Located in 23,000 square feet of offices in Main Place Tower at 350 Main St., the company plans to add 50 to 75 jobs over the next three years, including technical, customer service and sales positions. As it continues to grow, CentriLogic’s requirement for highly skilled employees will grow along with it.

There has been a tremendous surge in demand for outsourced datacenter space over the past several years, Offley said. Increased concerns about regulatory compliance, power outages, network security, natural disasters and cost containment are cited as the key contributing factors. CentriLogic’s unique combination of physically secure and internationally diverse facilities, guaranteed up-time and experienced staff, provide companies with a full range of options to meet their needs.

CentriLogic provides maximum levels of physical and data security, including fire detection and suppression, HVAC, biometric user authentication and video surveillance. Offley said the Buffalo area is a great match for its key datacenter, with possibilities for expansion in the region. CentriLogic currently has more than 40,000 square feet of datacenter space and has plans to continue to further expand their footprint in both the United States and Canada.
