So it’s become noticeable that I throw out good news about Web hosting from time to time. That’s just as predictable, in fact, as Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Bruno) doing off-the-wall, offensive, crude and let’s not forget, hugely popular satire. Still many are surprised, go figure.
So what’s this about hosting again?
Go Daddy, a press machine in the Web hosting world, is currently looking for Spanish speakers to boost their customer care services because of a "a significant spike in business from Mexico and Spain." So in the midst of these terrible employment statistics we're encountering, we see some positive news. In addition to the Spanish speaking jobs, Go Daddy has another 100 employment opportunities right now.
Today, I read that Arman Khalili, CEO of UnitedLayer and his team put together another great quarter by increasing sales 15 percent in colocation and managed hosting services. Well done, Arman and company.
"We have a unique opportunity to attract solid talent during these tough times, and have increased our head count in Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing. We plan on hiring for the remainder of 2009, our hardest job is to select quality candidates from the volume of job applicants," Khalili reported.
It's remarkable that there are plenty of hosting-related career opportunities and technical jobs still available. We may add that such leading Web hosts as Navisite, Rackspace and Hostway continue to hire as well.
This upbeat theme is working fine Web hosts, let's stick with it.

Another upbeat Web hosting report, go figure...
