TH: What is the chief distinguishing factor in your Web hosting operation that separates it from the competition?
JP: What separates us is the quality of our operation. A lot of Web hosting companies use low tier data centers, cheap hardware and junior staff. At Atum we pride ourselves on using only IBM and top quality hardware so that our clients have peace of mind knowing they are current with the latest technologies. In addition all of our technical staff is certified in various technologies, passionate about technology and love what they do.
TH: What are the Top 3 elements of your Web hosting company that your customers are most impressed with?
JP: I am always receiving positive feedback about how personal of a feel we give our customers. Not enough hosting companies take the time to discover their client’s needs, make recommendations and ensure they are happy. We pride ourselves on understanding your business and providing you options for hosting and services. We strongly feel too many people are forced to use an eCommerce site to buy what they think they need and not talk to anyone about making it better.
Our services team seems to impress our customers over and over again. We are always told how nice it is that we can provide a solution, perform all of the work they require without them having to train staff, find consultants and hope it is done right. Combining our services side with our hosting side we are able to provide a very quality solution with the feel of a large in house IT staff. Lastly, our dedication in keeping our data centers and staff within Canada seems to pay us a lot of compliments. TH:. If you could change ONE thing about your Web hosting business what would it be?
J.P.: If I could change one thing about our Web hosting business, it would be to get to meet more of our customers face to face! We are lucky enough to have customers from all over the world who we speak with frequently over email, phone and Skype. Many of the huge hosting heavyweights have turned the business very impersonal with one size fits all packages and cheap ecommerce solutions. While we want to be efficient for our customers, I wish that we could also shake everyone’s hand we do business with!
