Where to start?
Hi
Well, I've always wanted to get into web design... I've become decent at creating them in Photoshop, and have been successful in bring them on the web, but only in the form of bulky sliced templates (basically a clunky assortment of tables).
I've self-taught myself HTML--literally. I only learned what I know now--encompassing everything except forms--from looking at website source codes and tweaking and editing to see the effect. I've been trying to learn CSS, but now I've been using W3Schools.com to learn, and some independent articles from this site too. (I'm actually pretty happy that I was able to create my entire journal by myself with no prior CSS knowledge).
After I learn CSS (or get proficient, as it seems not as clear cut as HTML was) where should I go from there? What I mean when I say I'd like to get into web design, I mean functioning websites as well...
Should I try Javascript? Is there anything that'll help me learn that before I attempt it? (Such as HTML will help learn Dynamic HTML?) Is PHP too big a leap from there?
Thanks.
