Default Warning - EV1 Servers - deleted all data from server

We've been a client of Ev1Servers.net for almost four years now, and we've been running an important site on their servers.

Yesterday, whilst calling to clear up an interruption of service, I was told that they had just deleted all data on our server and re-sold the machine, less than 20 days after an invoice was due.

We received no warning of the deletion by phone or email. We've lost all data on that server and have probably lost one of our oldest and most important clients as a result.

(On the phone, Mary, the supervisor I eventually spoke to, was totally unapologetic, evidently feeling this was an entirely reasonable course of action for them to take. I didn't even get a "sorry for your trouble". I don't believe I've ever spoken to an alleged senior customer support person so unhelpful or unsympathetic.)

Needless to say, I'm absolutely furious. We're in the UK, so litigation isn't really practical. We're working to restore the server (as always when things go absolutely pear-shaped, we didn't have a recent local backup).

Just thought I'd do my bit for the Collective Knowledgebase by warning everyone - if you value your data, don't host it with EV1.
