It is not hard to switch hosts, however it is best to make sure you keep current backups is key. As long as you have current backups you can switch hosts pretty easily. Depending on your control panel, you can do this yourself.

There are a lot of different tactics that can be done, so there is no one good or bad way rather what ways work best for you.
