To advertise you have to look at a lot of possibilities and options. While this is not exhaustive by any means, I'd suggest a few major options.
- search engines and PPC advertising (google ad words, overture, Business.com, findwhat.com, kanoodle, etc...)
- you can also try a few different hosting directories, some are more expensive and yield more if you can afford the higher price point. You can always try 4 or 5 cheaper alternatives ($250 to $500/month) and see what kind of ROI you get
- you can also consider an affiliate program - by going through cj.com, you can post your banners (have 20dollarbanners.com make you some creatives if you need them) there and register through them so that you pay $50 for each customer you acquire.
- local yellow pages, business directories (in toronto there is something called
www.redto.com or toronto.com and you could always list cheaply in local versions of that i'm sure.
