I am in the domain name industry and therefore work very closely with hosting providers, ISPs, webdesign companies etc. Without a doubt domain names these days are nothing more than a commodity that just happens to be necessary as part of most web related offerings, and you can buy them from any number of providers.

One of the options my organization offers our domain resellers is the ability to create reseller accounts beneath them. in essence creating their own reseller channel. These accounts are created free of charge and our client specifies at what pricepoint. There is at least one other registrar that offers this option as well. While I have seen this option used with some host, it seems not all are up to date on this ability.

Many hosts provide the ability to register domain names, but imagine if you also added to your hosting packages a free domain reseller account. It is a feature that cost you nothing, but adds extra value to your service. And you still have the opportunity to make some money from it.

How many of you have looked into doing something like this? I am interested in your feedback.
