Default Stay away from GTSMICRO

Usually, I don't actually take the time to write my experiences, but this has got to be the worst and deadliest experience of them all. As a long time customer on the internet, it is my responsibility to ensure that costs are at a minumum for the company, but this one, GTSMicro, almost cost me my life.

Here's what happened:

It all started 6 months ago. I was with Multacom Corporation...great folks, and I was happy. Then, stupidly enough, I went online searching for better prices, and I came across GTSMicro...$299/month for a dedicated dual xeon server with RAID 10 etc. Great deal...and that guy I talked to, Brandon Lee, worked really hard to win me over. I knew at the time they bought rackspace from Calpop, but they assured me their contract was for 5 whole years and that they won't be moving out soon. And they also assured me 24/7 support, and tickets reply within 30 minutes.

Server setup took 3 days. Fine, I can live with that.

As the days went by, I moved my stuff over to them. Things went well for about a month, and then, things started going horribly wrong. Brandon informed me that they were moving out of Calpop and they were FORCING me to move. Using my various tactics, I ensured that I stayed at Calpop to keep our 100% uptime. Turns out that Brandon lied then (What 5 year contract?), didn't he?
Plus, he told me that he respect my business so he was taking a loss for each of our servers, but he says that's OK! (Right....keep reading!)

Then, the network started going wonky. I mentioned what had happened by submitting a ticket...and it clearly states in the auto reply if a ticket hasn't been submitted, we should call 18182882470....so I did. Turns out it's Brandon (is he the ONLY person who works there?!), Brandon picked up, and then cursed and yelled at me for calling his personal cell. What an $(@...I was told to! The ticket was replied a few hours later, stating that they don't know why....and that if I keep submitting tickets, they'll terminate my service!

What the hell? I always believed that service came with a server...they mentioned that out of 200 customers, I was the one submitting tickets, and for that, they were going to pull my service. So, I figured, whatever, i'm leaving. And that's not the end of it!

Somebody called me a few days later and said that if I wanted to stay (which they said I couldn't just a few days ago), they would up the price to $399. So I said yeah, i'll stay. (no, I won't)

They assured me that they were getting a 24/7 support team callcenter last week...I called today at 3am...nobody picked up, I called at 4, nobody picked up. Another lie from Brandon.

To continue then, I'm moving out of there, and I'm going to give them hell. Now, they just told me if I want to ship my HDD's out, I have to pay $75 for support! Outrageous.

And then there's the case when Calpop called one of my clients stating the server was down. When I mentioned it to Brandon, he said I was lying. Why the hell would I lie about something like that?

So stay far away from GTSMicro. Especially stay away from the only one person who works there: Brandon.

Lies to date: 30 minute response times.
Call Center Setup.
5 year contract..."we won't move, don't worry...."
Don't charge for support.
Staying at Calpop, we won't touch your server for at least a YEAR! (they setup a contract...)
He also said that if he needs to take my server offline, he'll call me first. He never did. When I found my svr offline, he'd tell me that they had to move it around first, and that they were doing rearranging. So basically, when they see fit, they'd move my server without my permission!

These guys will win you over with their price, then keep on UPPING it. We may be pursuing legal action against them, but that depends on whether or not it's cost efficient, and whether or not we could possibly win. So in the short term, NO, we're left powerless.

We're switching back to Multacom, and might I add, these guys let me use a lot of my own hardware in the servers, and they got my server setup in a day. Great pricing, solid network, and a good honest company. Why did I leave in the first place anyways?

Answer: Stupidity.

Bottom Line: Stay away from GTSMicro...bunch of folks who will cheat you out of your money. Well, actually, just one guy there who will cheat you out of your money.
