Hi Jeff,

in a previous post I mentioned that you need to be careful about OS Commerce due to the lack of support. It is hard for me to further comment on the cart software as our company provides it and, of course, I think it is great software with full support at no additional charge.

I can comment directly on authorize.net as we use it for our company and I find it to be very easy to use and robust with features. We use it for our site, call in transactions and for recurring payments for people that purchase our hosted shopping cart solution. There will be start-up costs of about $200 (shop around) and monthly fees of about $15-$20/mo. + a per transaction fee of about $0.30.

Hope that helps.

Thanks
Mike

Hi:

One e-commerce solution that I recommend is VSTORE.ca,a leading provider of free and paid ecommerce solution for small business.

It includes full featured WYSWYG HTML web page editor so you can quickly and easily create professional looking custom ecommerce web pages.

For the procesing of payments you can choose between many supported merchant account providers such as PayPal, AnyPay,e-Gold,iPayment, 2CheckOut,Authorize.net,Bank Transfer or Deposit and others.

Regarding to shopping cart, it has a temporary shopping cart for guests and permanent shopping cart for customers.Shopping cart contents are visible at all times to the customer and can be updated quickly and easily.

Also, it is based on the award winning osCommerce 2.2 open source e-commerce framework solution and it has many osCommerce custom contributions already pre-installed.

Regards,

Possibly you're going to need variety of features like search engine friendly shopping cart software, product catalog management, secure online payment trnsaction, SSL and payment integration, you should check with your hosting providers that they provide such features.

You can definitely get Zencart if OScommerce do not meet your needs. As for reliable business hosting solution, you can always do a search on the board for offers.

It is open source software, so if you are a Developer you can make exchanges to the code base, but don't use it if you demand any affirm.
