Help With Ecommerce Hosting?

Hi!

I currently have a site up with www.bizhosting.com and my merchant account or the people that process the credit cards is www.propay.com I want to change hosts and merchant acconts. I have been looking at the different hosts like startlogic and apollo which look good to me. I just wanted to see what others thought we the best for ecommerce hosting?

Also what shopping carts are the best to use?

Also what are the best merchant accounts like authoriznet?

I like the oscommerce shopping cart. So if I sign up with someone like startlogic is it pretty easy to set up the oscommerce shopping cart? Or will I need to know all sorts of coding and stuff? I dont know all that coding and that is where I have a problem. I can build my site in GoLive but when it comes to scriting and coding dont know to much. I have been to the oscommerce site and it is a bit confussing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeff,

Check out Boston Datacenters. I've been using them for years. They have a great e-commerce package using osCommerce (my favorite as well) for about $35/mo. The package also comes with lots of extra scripts for just about anything you may want to do with your website.

For payment processing, I use Global Payments. I like VeriSign's Payflow packages. It comes in two flavors: a less expensive option where the final payment is handled on their server, and a fully customizable solution that costs about $800/yr.

an option to OS Commerce would be www.pinnaclecart.com. It has a lot more features and they allow private labels of the shopping cart. They don't supply the hosting so you could still choose where you wanted to go with hosting.

I agree with you LCS. I use Cubecart 3.0.1 and Paypal business account. Using a paypal Business account lets you accept credit card payments from non-Paypal members and looks better. I own Qwik-Host.com and my Cpanel Fantastico has cubecart auto-installation. I could create a custom account for you with the Latest Cubecart and also 2 or 3 mods installed & hosting. It would be priced as follows:

www.storefront.net is a pretty popular product. You can buy the product from them and host it anywhere. If you need a Windows hosted platform, Storefront is the way to go.

Does anyone of you have tried using Startlogic as your host provider? I have seen a review from this site: http://www.hosting-buyers-guide.com/re/2005startlogic/ and want to know if they are one of the best hosting service in the web so I can decide in availing their service if ever. Thanks.

Understand that with OS Commerce, you have no support for the product. It is open source software, so if you are a Developer you can make changes to the code base, but don't use it if you need any support.

Try out Our Internet, We are receiving services from them for a few months and there were no issues yet. Their services were great and they provide OSCommerce cart with all their plans which could be installed with a few button clicks.

Authorize.Net is always the safe one to use.
