Windows Or Linux Hosting?

Hi All,
We are conducting a survey and we want to find out what Web Developers/Designers prefer to use for their hosting. Do they prefer Windows Hosting or Linux Hosting?

What if the Web pages are designed in HTML and you find a Windows and a Linux Host offering their services for the same price. Which one will you choose?

Please share your views.

I'm for linux. You get much more out of linux box than windows.

Reasons are performance, security, account management, price (for server software)...

If it's straight up HTML with no need for .ASP Support or anything of that sort -- Linux/*nix is the way to go in my opinion. The only time I see a need for Windows hosting is if they are in dire need of .ASP NET support or some other Windows only product. The reliability of *nix servers in my past has just helped me recommend Linux over Windows as a server if basic features (HTML, PHP, CGI, etc.) are just needed.

Well, if this is a general site with simple HTML pages, I will def. go for the Linux Servers. Linux servers are more reliable, secure. Linux servers are not very resource hungery as Windows Servers. Will go for the Windows Servers only if there is any specific requirements.

There is a lack of documentation for some things also...
