Default Changing Title with Javascript

Hi Everyone,

I had a customer ask me this and it something i just don't know the answer too. We all know optimizing the title tag is very important and it is a good idea to try and make it read nicely too, BUT sometimes it seems necessary to rewrite the title for display purposes (particularly with tabbed browsing now)

my question is there any negative impact SEO wise to re-writing the title after the page has loaded. I would assume that doing it after page load, this would not be recognized or even cared about by google, but figured i would ask those knowledgeable on here.

thanks!
