Over stuffing of keywords is the mistake commited by 90% of webmasters. Title should contain about 2 or 3 maximum. The article again should not get stuff with the keyword, or else it will get penalized.

Yes, i agree with akki.webmaster. It is very important that we do not stuff our webpage with keywords, too many of them, they tend to act negative for us as far as SEO is concerned. Ensure that you target one or two keywords and target them. Do a good research before you conclude on working on a keyword. Also don't write articles revolving around this keyword, instead, write naturally, trying to get this keyword once or twice in it. That should help

Keyword density= Total no. of keyword comes in a page/Total word in a web page
Keyword density=10/250=.o4
.04 x 100 = 4%

The page has a keyword density of 4%
3 to 5% keyword density is good for site.

I would like to add to this that too many keywords on your website can make it very annoying to read for any potential customer. For example if you keep mentioning "cheap web hosting". From the potential customer's point of view, they'll be reading the same thing over and over and leave your website before they've read all of it.

I have been providing professional SEO services for 5 years now. In my experience Yahoo tends to be the trickiest of all search engines. Paying for placement is always an option, by what fun is that?

Here is where I would start.
Key word research - you need to determine what keywords people are searching for.

Optimization- now place those keywords in to your website. This is tricky though. You only what one page per keyword. Basically you are hurting your self if you have 2 pages both targeting "snowboarding". You want to place the words in the title tag and incorporate them in the description tag. Also NATURALLY mention them in the body of the page DO NOT over use the keywords, you will get banned, you will cry. Just don't do it.

Now try to get links from other sites, preferably with you keywords as the anchor text.

Unfortunately the art of SEO is very hard to sum up in to a quick answer so I have includes so continued research links for you as well.
