Don't depend on only this technique, there are many other seo techniques which also help you to increase page rank like:

*Bookmarking
*Press Release
*Classified
*Forum

Both are great way to increase your page rank. But both are only useful if the content to blog and article is good and attractive. Good content will attract more visitors towards it, which will increase the traffic and which in turn will help in ranking your site.
