Worst hosting ever - Host1Plus.com

Hi all,

I just have to share this with everybody and hopefully nobody else has to suffer this insanity of host1plus.com.

First of all on the website you can see they pretend to HAVE a data centre in the US. Well I choose them as hosting because they have multiple servers all over the world and I was planning to mirror my website on those different servers for better service to my customers.

Since I've been with them the hosting went from average to worse.. A lot of smaller periods of downtime, very slow Mysql etc.. Then last week 10 hours of 'down time'. Server wasn't really offline but refused to serve any php pages. This took them just over 10 hours to fix. Then following week again a lot of smaller down time periods and slow and unstable Mysql server.

Now my website has been offline for MORE then 48 hours, I have been complaining from the first hour my website went offline and they kept telling me (until like 10 hours ago) yeah we will have it fixed in few hours.

Now they came with this explanation:
'Due some circumstances we have faced total network failure in the US DC. Our server is completely disconnected and data center refused to provide backup data. We are still negotiating with DC to get all data backup'

Which leads me to believe 2 things:
- they don't have a data centre in the US AT ALL. They just outsource and have access to some servers
- They didn't pay fees or something similar and now the owner of the data centre has taken all data on the server hostage until they pay.

I really need access to my database. I'm loosing income every hour and more important loosing customers and possibly my nr 1 spot in Google search on my keywords.

I have no idea what I can do.. if anybody has tips for me I highly appreciate them.

And an maybe a bit obvious but NEVER EVER put your website on host1plus.com hosting.

I assume that you did not make any buckup yourself.
I think the only thing you can do is wait for your current host company get the data back.
I saw a thread outside about "how to select a good host company".Have a try.And at least do some search for reviews and get the exactly answer on your needs,so their disguise would not have any effect.

Hi,

I've an account at Bluehost.. and they suck also.. not soo much as host1plus.com but still. I moved to other places because their MYSQL server kept giving out and is very slow because of 'bad neighboors'. But still indeed they are MUCH better then Host1plus.com

And indeed I've been so stupid not to back up my db (that is a once in a lifetime mistake).. Its not almost a month and still no data back at all and their communication is close to zero.. only 'we are waiting on our lawyers' and 'we are working on it'.

Again never ever ever put your website there..

I now moved to VPS.net which untill now treat me SO much better. Support is WAY faster and better and so far I'm veyr happy there having 2 servers in the UK cloud and the US cloud to best serve my visitors a speedy website!
