What’s in a domain?
You may think this qualifies as a silly season story but you still need to know that the domain name of ZY.Com is up for auction. Evidently two letter dotcom domains sold out in 1994 and, according to press reports, are a much sought-after commodity. ZY claims in a recent release that it is one of only 676 two letter .com domain names in existence.
The release announcing the sale of zy.com says that two letter domains are selling for big bucks: examples include ts.com for $186,000, hx.com for $125,000, ay.com for $101,000 and FB.com for $8.5m. Well FB is the abbreviation for Facebook.
If you go to zy.com you can place your bid.
So in these turbulent times forget gold and go for two letter domain names.
