Lan Network - Important tips
Hello Everybody !!!
In a Windows Workgroup local area network environment, sometimes when you access neighborhood computer, it asks for password. Usually there is a guest user as a user name and password is empty to fill in order to access the PC. Now in offices and your private local area network this is not necessary option to have for users. If you disable that, You will no longer be asked for the password to access the neighborhood PC. This can be achieved via tweaking registry entries a bit.
-Click Start > Run > compmgmt.msc (or right click at My Computer icon at desktop and select manage)
- Under Local Users and Groups select Users
- In the right side, right click Guest and go to properties
- Check "Account is disabled" option
- You are done
Now whenever you will click the PC present in workgroup, it will not ask for login.
Thanks.

Re: Lan Network - Important tips
Hello
Planning
# If your network will have more than a few computers, you'll need to plan carefully before you start. In the beginning, you may be able to make direct wire runs to every computer in the network from your central router. This is known as a 'star architecture' because all wire runs radiate out from the middle like a star. Later on, if you add to the network and the computers outnumber the original wires, it may not be easy to go back and add runs. If you plan in the beginning for expansion, you can install extras; but with rapid network growth, you may still have to find another way later on. This is where a local switch comes into play. You can take an office that has one data line and install a switch to share or split the signal between several computers.
# In the past when people were more prone to use hubs instead of switches, it was important that the signal reached all parts of the network within a certain amount of time. This is almost obsolete with the use of modern switches, but it's still handy knowledge in case you decide to use hubs instead of switches. The '5, 4, 3' rule states that a network can have no more than five segments joined with no more than four repeating devices like active hubs, and no more than three of these segments can have transmitting devices attached to them. This is a mathematical way to say keep your network simple.

Re: Lan Network - Important tips
A Local Area Network (LAN) is a network system in which computers interconnected in a limited geographical area, such as network of computers college computer laboratory or network of computers in office building etc. LANs designed to allow resources (such as printers and application programs, secondary storage etc.) to be shared between personal computers or workstations. The size LAN is limited to a few kilometers (typically it is 1 km).
In networked environment, a powerful computer called the Server or computer is used that controls all the computers connected to the network. The so and important data (database) is stored on the central server and they can be shared between users when needed. The devices other than server within the network are called nodes. A node may be a personal computer, printer, storage device, monitor etc.
The computers used in LAN also require network interface cards. A network interface card enables the computer to send and to receive information over a cable network. In a LAN, the nodes are connected via cables. A LAN may use the star topology, ring topology or bus topology. In general, a LAN uses only one type of transmission medium. The data transmission rate through LAN is very fast. Today, the data transmission rate over LAN is up to 100 mega bits per second (Mbps)
LAN is created in a single office, building or campus. In case of a single building, the LAN consists of few nodes and uses a single topology. The LAN may be expanded into multiple buildings or rooms. In this case, different small networks (or LANs) are connected together through a central backbone. The single building LAN and Multiple building LAN are shown below.

These all tips which you can share is really great. The equipment used in the LAN also requires the network interface cards. A network interface card allows the computer to send and receive information over a wired network. In a LAN, nodes are connected by cables.

Re: Lan Network - Important tips
LAN means is Local Area Network. So First type is LAN. Second is MAN(Metro policy Area Network). Third one is WAN(Wide area Network). LAN is small area network to work compare of the other network.
