Disk Boot Failure

I can't boot up and get the message: disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter

If I try the safe mode after a while I get:a preblem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer

not sure which direction to go only 2-3 years old and hate to toss it but I can't find my 'system disk'

First, check your BIOS settings to see if S.M.A.R.T drive reporting is enabled. If it is, disable it and give it a test run of 2-3 days under a regular rebooting cycle to see if the error persists.Press F5 then yes then enter, then F10 then yes, then enter to restore BIOS defaults.
