Well. For starters, you need to be resourceful if you want to be in the hosting business. So, use the tools at your disposal (ie this forum, google) and start reading and don't stop until you are sick of reading about the webhosting world.

Not to be harsh, but judging by your question it seems like you haven't the foggiest idea of what to do. I am also not the hand-holding type, so I won't be putting together a step-by-step list of how you can start a hosting company. Hopefully neither will anyone else on this forum

Maybe by now you have some more information at hand and can ask more structured questions such as 'What type of services should offer as a host?' 'What kinds of technical backgrounds do hosting company employees have?' 'Should I run a Unix or Windows based service, or both?' etc etc.

We'll be glad to field any of those questions and help you out.

Best to start our with a good reseller plan. Learn the lingo and build your business with minimum costs. Then, when you've got your feet wet, and a decent source of income, buy a dedicated server, thats what I am trying to do now.

best thing to do would be to obtain a reseller account that allows your to over sell bw and diskspace. So you can offer larger hosting plans at cheaper prices.

Start up with a reseller account. There are a few things you shoud do to get started:

1) Make sure you know how to use the end user control panel before becoming a reseller. This is not a must but always a good idea as if you don't know about your own system, it will be hard to give support to your customers. Many resellers signup as a regular client first to check things out and then move into a reseller account.

2) Make sure you ask a lot of questions. If the plans sounds too good to be true there are usually hidden costs.

3) When you find a reseller plan, do a search on the hosting company name in the forum and see what comes up, you'll find a lot about a hosting company this way.

4) Make sure you have some hosting accounts lines up so the service will pay for itself. It should only take about 3-4 accounts, if it takes more you are paying too much.

This will help you on the road to become a Hosting Reseller.
