When will the madness end? Are these guys for real - seriously this is not geurilla marketing - i'd call it monkey marketing maybe. The good thing about his marketing efforts (Faulkner) is that atleast he always follows up with a press release and some totally contradictory comment. Their latest marketing initiative centers around the recent and unparalleled suspensions levied in the NBA against members of the Pacers and the Pistons for players jumping into the stands and beating up paying fans.

The Texas-based host announced on Monday that it will pay $10,000 to the first person - any player or fan captured in television news coverage - to tattoo the company's logo on their fist.

Here are cihosts comments - "We do not condone or support this type of behavior under any circumstances," says Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host. "But chances are these people will be on camera again - at one point or another - so let's see if they want to launch a marketing career. Of course, they will have to prove they were in the fray."

What is everybody's thoughts?

lol. cihost is well known to be good in marketing but lack in providing reliable hosting service. The newbie will just fall into their marketing trap if you do not do your homework.

Actually I think that what they've done is smart gurilla marketing. Whether it was ethical is another matter, but were talking about it on this forum, so it will help their ranking with regards to web hosting, and it will create general awareness; specifically as quirky, different -- does that appeal to the techie's? If so, then it would be effective, if not, than waste of space and time.

IMHO for what its worth, I think that it is based on the fact we're talking about it, and its sufficently silly to be funny in a crass kinda way.
