Web host secure from U.S. government prying
Hi, can anyone recommend a webhost that could be considered reasonably secure against U.S. government prying? For a start it would have to be outside the U.S. and exclude the following countries, which have a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with the U.S.:
United Kindgom and UK's territory Cayman Islands, Argentina, Bahamas, Canada, Hungary, Italy, Jamaica, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Panama, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay.

Hmm.. are you trying to do somethign illegal ?? hmmm..
You can get good hosts in India or Russia. Indian companies I would recommend are Indiatimes - hosting.indiatimes.com and Sify -sifyhosting.com
They have good datacenters in India, that I can confirm.

If peacefully opposing the Bush regime and Israeli apartheid is illegal, then yes.
Thanks for your advice.

If you are planing for a peaceful opposition, even US hosts would be okay! I know people hosting anti-bush sites on US hosts itself, for years! Afterall, free speech is something guaranteed in a democracy, but not with the people whom you are planning to support!
Anyways, this is not forum for political discussions! Best of luck with your efforts!

You're living in a fantasy world alemcherry. Hosting in the U.S. would leave us very open to government eavesdropping and probably worse. We would also be concerned that the government would attempt to confiscate our server on some pretext to obtain our membership database.

And whom are these people I am "planning to support" alemcherry? I can tell you it's not the Israeli government, and those complicit in its support, who routinely shoot the oppressed people of Palestine dead, even children, not for daring to have free speech but for daring to exist (in all other parts of the world its call ethnic cleansing and apartheid). It's not the U.S. government (selected by a partisan court), and those complicit in its support, who routinely murder people in their hundreds of thousands for oil and hegemony, and have the nerve to call it "collateral damage."
So whom are these people I am "planning to support" alemcherry? The democratically elected government of the Palestinian people, who dare to presume that their people have the right to exist and return to their homes? The millions of dead Asians? The hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis? The repressed and untold dead of South America?

Re: Web host secure from U.S. government prying
Well.. I dint see any boards against saddam when he killed his own people using chemical weapons! thousands of his own people, can you imageine that?
I dint see any kind of campaign against the taliban when they took away all the freedowm one can imagine. Even the freedom to watch a football match, even to post a reply on internet, or watch a movie!
I dint see any campaign when they said someone converting from their religion will be killed, according to their laws. Someone refusing to convert to their religion also met with teh same fate, whereever they ahev the majority. Do you support that?
I fail to understand how killing innocent people can be justified in any country or religion. Do you plan to says omething about the people who kill thousands in philipines, thailand, India, Pakisatan, Afghan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Spain, Londown and up to your WTC? Do you think its bush-isrel killing innocent people in these countries?
Do you know that even in countries like indai, 1000s are killed by the terrrism every year, and that has been going on for years and years? Do you plan to support that?
And finally, do you know what hamas and the democratically elected palastinaian govt. has been doing? Its the same as what israel is doing, my dear friend!
This forum will not be enough, if I am to list down all the human right sviolations by your peole, and the thousands they are killing every day.
I still recommend we keep this forum away from politics. Mods may consider closing/deleting the thread.
