You must not be disappointed and unhappy when your PS3 will get the blinking red light issue. Most of the times, it is a challenge of connection with your tricky generate or the tough drive itself is broken.
Sorry to say, but you're screwed. That happened to me and I still had the warranty. Sony just gave me a new system and said there was no other way to fix it. Look harder for the receipt or its a 300 bucks down the drain.
