Windows Or Linux Hosting?

Linux seems to be more reliable for me. I hear the same almost everywhere.

That's why I can't believe godaddy offers windows or linux for web hosting. Maybe it's because most people who would goto godaddy for hosting probably don't know the difference. They should follow the example of hostqt.com and only offer linux. Ofcourse, other than being more reliable, it's cheaper. Go figure.

under 'web hosting' if u click on 'hosting' plans. then i think u click on compare plans and then click on windows operating system it comes with all the software u need to make forums,blogs and galleries.

windows hosting is pretty mucha niche market as in.. you normally dont go with windows hosting unless you absolutely have to.. plus hosting is linux and cpanel are much better if you are a newbie...

I am guy from windows world, But:

1. Windows web hosting is expensive when compare with linux.
2. SQL Server 2000 vs MySql, You can get MySql easily but getting Sql server 2000 support with enough space is a battle cost wise and rights wise.
3. Security is a big issue. Small web hosting companies host windows web hosting with not enough security measures. Getting hacked is a common scenario with them.
