Hi all

The often asked question - which host?

Mine is currently a bit inconsistent and often slow. I upgraded to their top package but no real improvement.

I need a UK based Unix host (PHP/MySQL) and my main priority is uptime as I am hosting an ecommerce shop. I don't want to pay much more than £25 a month although that may be an option if the business continues to expand.

Our traffic is currently just 3GB so we don't require massive amounts and storage needs are not hugely important either.

I was looking at moving to WebFusion but am having second thoughts having read a few forums/reviews today.

Any comments welcome.

But please don't suggest US based servers.

I suggest you one and one they have good name around hosting customers, and seems very experienced in hosting business

I would avoid 1&1, you only have to check out the posts on various forums to see they get quite a lot of upset customers, who went for a cheap deal and ended with poor support. You could take a look at UKFast who seem to have a better reputation. Although it would appear to be outside your price range, one of the best hosting companies for uptime is Rackspace.

I'd definitely avoid 1&1 been reading really bad reviews about them at the moment.

Is it UK servers or just a UK based comapny your looking for? If just a UK based host then I would recommend www.cyberhostpro.com or possibly fasthosts.co.uk

Id recommend you FASTHOST or Webfusion. They are not bad hosting companies. Their support is responsive and they rarely have downtime.

Your right, most peaple think uptime is a must. We have had 100% for the past 3years so....We can concentrate on other things.

I would reccomend a company called Greenlush. www.greenlush.com
They have brilliant service and are very cheap.

It is not very cheap unfortunately
