Question for Web Hosting Companies

Hi,

I'm posing this question to web hosters who rent dedicated servers to host their shared clients. Is it a concern to you whether the company from which you rent the dedicated server also does shared hosting? Are you less likely to get a dedicated server from such a company? If yes, why? Is it because you are protecting yourself from that company possibly stealing your shared hosting clients for themselves? Could it be because you would not want to support your competitor? Any other reasons?

As far as we're concerned, it's not that much of an issue if the company we rent our servers from also offers similar packages.

At the end of the day competition is there wether you like it or not but we get a good deal and then sell in different geo locations which seems to help

As a rule I would not. Read the reseller agreement carefully. Then read it again and finally have someone else read it. Check for feedback in other places and make sure they are not making you an affiliate. I've heard of some people starting out who get burned because they think they are starting a business but are only building a business for someone else.
