what sort of host do I need?

I am interested in starting a local dating website. I need something that will hold a few thousand pictures/profiles and have online chat. Don't care about emails. Have no clue what sort of memory or host can do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Scott, Any idea what your going to be using to build your site? You "might" be able to start off with a shared account, although if your site takes off your probably going to need to move to something bigger. Start off small and upgrade as needed.

I agree with Jim2Macs. I think you should start with some cheap hosting plan and then if you need more space or traffic, you can upgrade your account to the next and see what would it be...

you can start with shared hosting with any top brand and if it gives any problem then dedicated hosting might be solution ..All you need to do is just email your host and ask them if they r capable enough to run your script
