Default more questions

Hi me again
I was wondering if you build a site with a sitemaker i.e. Homestead,
you then have homestead as part of your address, so how do you build a site without programs like homestead. Do you just create them in a program such as word and then send them to a webhost, to be posted on the web?
thanks again

Default Re: more questions

I like to build my websites using some sort of web site builder that has templates and such. This is due to not owning Frontpage. Many hosting providers that I've researched in my own search support Frontpage. If you have Frontpage, I would personally use that; the presence of wysiwyg software such as the site makers tend to increase your hosting fees. wysisyg = what you see is what you get. It is a visual editor and you usually don't have to use any code. Good luck. I've spent several weeks researching the hosts, providers, and macs (merchant account providers).

A web hosting company that will charge you according to what kind of editor you are using is not really a web hosting company at all and might need to have their heads examined

It doesn't make any sort of difference what editor you are using, it's none of the web hosting providers business what you use.

Hosting with homestead or angelfire is not a suggested way to go unless you are only planning on putting up a few pictures and maybe one or two of your folks.

If you are wanting to have a "real" web presence, then I might suggest that you stay away from being hosted on a freeserver or being hosted as a sub-domain.

Question Re: more questions

I have around 3000 products to list that are in a Microsoft Access database. Any suggestions on a web host? Also, I need a web host, gateway provider, and merchant account provider in order to sell effectively and efficiently, correct?
