I have and am currently working with both the technologies simultaneously. In my experience, .NET is much better in building UIs. Java on the other hand is portable. Also, Java is seen as a good programming language for going cross operating system.

I think that Java is the best as it has more demand now-a-days in the market as compared to other languages.Java many features & benefits too.I hope you understand the importance of Java.

Yes, Both Programming language ( Java and .Net ) are good.depend upon you which do you chose. In my view Java is the best option .net has fewer requirement than java....

If you want to develop in easy and fastest way then .NET platforms very useful and Java Platforms is very difficult but now Java hava a good market in the IT industry.
