Google has got its 5th acquisition in this year. Episodic (video service) is drafted for helping out with the helping out of the Google owned YouTube video service. Episodic is a San Francisco based company, which was founded by Noam Lovinsky and Matias Cudich. This company describes itself as a �comprehensive platform for broadcasting live and on-demand video to the web or any web-enabled device.� Episodic made the announcement of this acquisition in a blog posting on this Friday.
Episodic is an online video
hosting service and publishing suite. It has the featured capability for publishing the live streams and content on-demand. The users also have control over advertisements and ad breaks in their videos and also the in-depth ****ytics tool, which gives them real-time information on the experiences of viewers.
The users can make money off of their video channels by inserting advertisements or charging viewers for content (through credit card). These options are available for live streams and on-demand video applications. Episodic is optimized for getting reviewed on mobile devices, inclusive of iPhone. The new account sign-up has been put on hold for this time and the users can register to be contacted, once the acquisition has been sorted out. The service will be clubbed with YouTube and the staff of Episodic will join YouTube next week.
Google is making number of plans on taking over the online video applications and the company is keeping up to its promise for purchase of one company every month in 2010. Google has bought MS Word online component DocVerse, photo editing website Picnik, email app maker reMail and social search company Aardvark.
